TEARS AND CHEERS
Senior Care Kannapolis NC
There were many a tear and many a cheer at this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Before we strike out to walk, we hear of the stories of those touched by Alzheimer’s. The stories come from those struggling with the disease themselves, they come from those that care for the family member or client with Alzheimer’s, and they come from those that have lost someone to the disease. Hearing of the pain and frustrations that this disease brings into so many families and communities is truly heartbreaking. Surely each of us are touched by Alzheimer’s or will be.
The cheers came as hundreds of participants charged ahead on the 2 mile walk. It was perfect weather, lots of teams, sponsors, families and the Subway mascot, Intimidators mascot, excitement all around as a community came together to raise awareness and money in the fight to end Alzheimer’s.
More cheers went up when the preliminary report was announced: over 800 walkers, raising over $82,000!! That was 138% of the goal for this year!!
Money is still coming in and will be accepted until December 15 to go towards this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Just go to www.Alz.org and donate to the 2016 Kannapolis Walk.
