RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides courteous, qualified and safe personal care services, as defined by the NC Division of Health Service Regulations
(https://info.ncdhhs.gov/dhsr/ahc/index.html), to agency patients in accordance with the prescribed Plan of Care and under the supervision and direction of the agency’s Director of Nursing and its policies and procedures.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Provides courteous, qualified and safe personal care services.
  • Complies with agency policies and procedures.
  • Performs duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations.
  • Recording and reporting changes in the client’s condition, family situation or needs to the RN.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Must provide own means of transportation to patient assignments.
  • High School or High School equivalent diploma.
  • Physical condition that conforms to state and federal requirements and the requirements of the job.
  • A compassionate and concerned attitude regarding the care of the sick and elderly.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written/verbal communications.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include heavy lifting and extensive bending and standing.
  • Ability to effectively deal with stress.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work environment will be in patient homes with varying degrees of sanitary, comfort and functional conditions; visits done alone; travel on a variety of roads into various community or neighborhoods; patients accepted with communicable and/or infectious diseases.'
